“Here’s your ride! It’s MOM! You’re the last pick up for the day!”
Jill and her purple backpack bounce as her mom pulls up.
Mom gets out of the car, walks around and helps Jill in the car. She leans in and buckles her up.
She pops out and I ask how the meeting went last week. She nodded and smiled.
“So good. It was so good. Everything’s going to be good.” She nodded with knowledge and appreciation in her eyes.
“Everything’s going to be GREAT!” Mom nodded as she headed back around the car.
Then she stopped, and looked me straight in the eye. “Thank you. No, really, thank you. Thank you for all you did. I will never, ever forget you.” I heard her voice quiver and she turned away quickly.
In other professions, bonuses are monetary. In our profession, these are the bonuses and they are priceless.
